Vintage Harmony “Paramount” 0-size 12-fret blend in ladder-braced mahogany/birch, 1 3/4” nut, 2 5/16” string spacing, punchy, loud and sassy

Harmony introduced the Paramount model back in the 1940s but this is a younger example. The solid, slab sawn mahogany top was imported from an even earlier Harmony and really brings out the tone and volume. This guitar favors a player with medium to large hands and can handle a moderate attack with ease.

SPECS: 0-size body, 12-fret neck with slotted headstock, ladder-braced solid mahogany top in natural finish, birch sides and back in red mahogany lacquer finish, Cream binding top and back. Poplar neck with neck reinforcement added, original tuning machines, full “C” neck profile, rosewood fretboard with new frets, new rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddle. Nut width: 1 3/4”, String Spacing: 2 5/16”, Scale length: 24”, Upper bout: 9 5/8”, Lower Bout: 13 1/4”, Body length: 17 3/4”, Widest body depth: 3 3/4”, Overall length: 36”, Neck thickness at 1st fret: 7/8“, Neck thickness at 5th fret: 7/8”, Action: 1/8”, string gauge setup: D’addario EJ26 custom light gauge in standard tuning.

CONDITION: Solid rebuilt condition with upgraded bracing to accommodate modern steel strings. Some capo marks on back of neck. Other work included neckset, ladder-braced mahogany top, bridge, setup. Repurposed woods may have underlying scrapes and scratches, bumps and bruises.

SOUND: “Punchy, loud and sassy” favors the blues or old-time song set. You can choose fingerstyle, flat picking or strumming. Action can be adjusted to suit your playing style.
